How long has it been since you sent a postcard greeting to friends or family. At one time travelers sent postcards to family and friends to show all the exciting new places they were getting to visit. One of the most popular was the railway postcards that would show the many fine and fancy trains and depots. Sadly many of the trains and stations are now gone, but you can still send railway postcards.

Today, many of the stations are in disrepair. Some have been demolished and others are converted for different uses. In larger cities, you may find a station that still stands and has been restored to its former grandeur. These were fine buildings that were put together by skilled craftsmen.

While it may be difficult to find the railway postcards of years ago, you can still use the photographs that you take of these buildings and prepare your own railway postcards for friends and family as you travel.

Additionally, many collectors of railway postcards post images of their cards that can be printed on card stock and mailed just as the originals were intended. By using these images on the internet, you can prepare authentic looking railway postcards.

One of the best ways to print and send postcards is through an online postcard service. The service allows you to choose your own image, either from your own digital camera, or the millions of images online for the front of the card. Cards are sent for the same fee no matter where the are mailed.

You will need to select the image for your post card and upload it into the system. Once you have chose the front for the card, you have the opportunity to write your message and address the card. Pay your fee and the card is printed and mailed. Your recipient receives a paper post card, and it was as easy for you to send as it is to send an e-mail.
